Knoxville, Tenn — June 3, 2021 | Coldwell Banker Commercial Wallace announces that John Rebori, CCIM recently handled the lease of a property at 716 Twentieth Street for a new location of The Humble Hog.
This is a full service BBQ restaurant in the heart of UT’s Knoxville campus, at the corner of 20th and Cumberland Ave (above Stefano’s Pizza). The restaurant is a leader in the Illinois BBQ scene and this is the first expansion for the eatery outside of Illinois.
Owner and operator Benjamin Grice estimates the opening to be around the first of September, in time for football season. Renovations include the addition of a roof deck overlooking Cumberland Avenue.
The Humble Hog has always been known for working with local suppliers, farmers, bakeries and breweries and will continue to do so in Knoxville, partnering with several local artisanal purveyors. During construction this summer, The Humble Hog will be helping with several charitable opportunities within Knoxville.
The location has historical significance as the site of the original Ruby Tuesday, the first unit in the chain started in 1972 which grew to over 800 units.
